In an effort to help small local businesses reopen their doors safely, the City of Carpinteria is launching a second round of its COVID-19 Relief Small Business Restart Grant Program. The program has already provided $1,000 grants to 69 local businesses seeking financial support to meet guidelines for a safe reopening. The second round of grants will be available to businesses located in the City of Carpinteria that are eligible for reopening and have self-certified through the County of Santa Barbara’s RISE program. Grants are designed to offset costs associated with efforts such as cleaning and sanitation, purchase of face coverings, and other personal protective gear. Applications must be completed and submitted to City Hall by Aug. 10 at 4 p.m. for consideration.
