Carpinteria residents who have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic may be eligible for rent assistance. The Emergency Rental Assistance Program managed by the County of Santa Barbara will provide up to three months of rent payments for tenants who cannot pay rent because of lost or reduced income due to COVID-I9. Funded through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act, the program includes $741,038 allocated to Santa Barbara County. Additionally, the City of Carpinteria has applied its $49,205 allocation toward the program. Funds will be distributed to qualifying tenants on a first-come first served basis.
