Beginning tomorrow, Nov. 21, non-essential workplaces in Santa Barbara County must close between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. daily. The new State of California mandate applies to all counties in the Purple Tier, which includes Santa Barbara, Ventura, and San Luis Obispo. Restaurant takeout will be allowed after 10 p.m. but no sit down dining outside. The mandate aims to reduce community spread of COVID-19, protect individuals at higher risk of severe illness or death from COVID-19, and prevent the state’s health care delivery system from becoming overwhelmed.
