As the economy begins to reopen and restrictions throughout the state are loosening, the City has begun relaxing public parking restrictions implemented to reduce congestion in areas with high intensity use, such as beaches and the Bluffs Preserve. Last week, parking was restored along the east side of Linden Avenue between Sandyland Road and Sixth Street. Bluffs parking lots at Viola Fields and Bailard Avenue are also now open. Social distancing is still required, but as beaches and parks in other areas are reopened, the City of Carpinteria expects to see recreational use spread more evenly along the coast.
