Governor Newsom’s reopening plan for California allows counties that meet specific criteria to move into the next phase (late Stage 2). Though Santa Barbara County has not yet received approval by the State to move into late Stage 2, it is expected to come very soon.
In this next stage, the following businesses will be allowed to reopen with modifications after they have filled out a self-attestation form online:
- Dine-in restaurants (see guidance for reopening at https://covid19.ca.gov/pdf/guidance-dine-in-restaurants.pdf)
- “Destination retail” including shopping malls and swap meets (see guidance for reopening at https://covid19.ca.gov/pdf/guidance-shopping-centers.pdf)
- Car washes & tanning facilities
- Office-based businesses, though telework is still strongly encouraged
The County launched a new webpage that describes the step-by-step process for businesses to reopen https://recoverysbc.org/reopen-your-business/.
