The City of Carpinteria has decided to postpone its Annual Household Goods and Hazardous Waste Day out of an abundance of caution related to the spread of coronavirus. The event will be rescheduled from April 11 to a new date which has not been determined yet. Household goods and waste will NOT be accepted at City Hall on April 11. As soon as a replacement date for the event is decided upon, the City will inform residents.
The City WILL hold its ABOP disposal events on Saturday, March 21 and April 18, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. At these events, residents can dispose of antifreeze (max. 5 gallons), oil (max. 5 gallons), batteries, used oil filters, latex and oil based paints (full list at paintcare.org), small household electronics (max three per household), mercury based thermostats and compact fluorescent light bulbs.
