Beginning Friday, April 17, the City of Carpinteria will close beach-end parking lots on Linden, Elm, Holly and Ash avenues, as well as the diagonal parking spaces on Linden Avenue south of the railroad tracks. The parking closures are intended to discourage beach crowding and behavior that challenges social distancing orders. By limiting parking, the City hopes to keep beaches open for responsible use that supports efforts to slow the transmission of COVID-19. These parking areas will be closed until further notice. Additionally, the City has begun daily monitoring of both City Beach and Jelly Bowl Beach and will document beach use and adjust City response based on these observations.
