The City of Carpinteria is in the process of removing some of the restrictions placed on parking in response to State and County stay-at-home orders. Parking lots that were closed in an effort to reduce beach and downtown congestion are being reopened. These include the beach parking lots at the end of Linden, Elm, Holly and Ash avenues, as well as City Parking Lot 3 at the Amtrak station. The “no parking” restrictions temporarily implemented around the Carpinteria Children’s Project campus, on Fifth Street, and on Carpinteria Avenue near City Hall also will be removed.
Two-hour parking limit zones in the Beach and Concha Loma neighborhoods and the permit-only parking areas on parts of Palm Avenue and Sixth Street will remain in place Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays until further notice.
Additionally, normal enforcement of street sweeping and timed parking restrictions will resume on Monday, June 15 after a mid-March suspension prompted by stay-at-home orders.
