As another warm weekend approaches, the City of Carpinteria is increasing enforcement efforts to ensure compliance with State and County social distancing orders. City Code Compliance Officers, City and State Lifeguards, and Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Department officers will be patrolling local beaches to discourage behavior that challenges orders intended to slow the spread of COVID-19. Beach parking has also been limited to reduce crowds. By taking these measures, the City of Carpinteria hopes to keep its beaches open for the mental and physical benefits they provide, and to maintain consistency with neighboring beaches in unincorporated Santa Barbara County and Carpinteria State Beach. The City appreciates efforts by Carpinterians to safely and responsibly use beaches, parks, and trails during this difficult time.
