The City has amended plans to close a portion of Linden Avenue to create a pedestrian area and allow businesses to temporarily expand their footprint. Taking into account feedback from businesses and the traffic flow complications created by the pavement repair project on 8th Street, the City has reduced the closed portion of Linden Avenue to the 600 block only. Businesses between 6th and 7th streets have the opportunity to temporarily expand their footprint while the roadway is closed to traffic. Paving work is scheduled to take place on 8th Street between Maple and Elm avenues on Friday, Aug. 15, and the newly paved section will be reopened to traffic over the weekend.
